Just looking at the next section she'll be doing, it's a hell of dog-leg out to Raven Crag isn't it? That ground will be horrible too, the rain over the last 24 hours will have brought life back to the bogs thereabouts.
Question: Is it just me, or it the Birkett rather than the Wainwright that's marked for Armboth Fell? Perhaps she's doing both to dispel any doubt.
I hear she is struggling with "asthma and exhaustion" and everyone got very cold earlier because they simply weren't moving fast enough to generate any heat. It's also apparently "pissing down again".
Very grim - a good demonstration of how the weather changes even in May
(it's blowy enough here, can't light the fire, it's smoking out the room and I've just realised the garden chairs are still out because one has just launched itself at the door)
NE AFAIK she is using the Wainwrights summits as defined on Harold Street's web page but I think when James set up the tracker summits he just used the highest points. From a conversation I've seen elsewhere previous rounds have tended to visit both where they are close together just to be sure. The slight oddity is Melbreak where previous rounds (certainly from Steve B onwards) have gone to the south summit not the north one which Wainwright described as the more attractive or the cairn slightly SE of that which Wainwright sketched?
