yes - bagged GK on the way
usually based near Keswick, and have done all the local fells, so always torn as to which direction to head - always seems to be about half an hour drive to reach a decent starting point

Oh, I've just been looking at Gibson Knott. Can I fool Fizz into walking a little further.

Just plotted a sort of route 5.8 miles outward leg to High Rise. Might be pushing my luck with Fizz to bag Sergeant's Crag Fenner's.

As a shorter route to do High Raise, my personal choice would be a full on BG recce, or do the Langdale Pikes as well as High Raise and Sgt Mann from Stickle Barn. It's a bit of a tourist route, but there if your there for more than a weekend hit it 1st thing on a nice weekday morning.

High Raise from Grasmer is roughly a 8-10 round trip I reckon.

Sergeant's Crag is not impossible from High Raise, but I think Mr Fenland actually had Sergeant Man in mind. If you go to Gibson Knott and then on to Calf Crag, you can follow the BG line to Sergeant Man (via Mere Beck/Codale Head) and then on to High Raise.

If you do decide to go on to Sergeant's Crag, I'd recommend sticking to the C2C path then contouring under Greenup Edge towards Langstrath. You can approach the Crag from the South and from there it's pretty straightforward to bag Eagle's Crag too :-)
