Homer/FR - Lakeland Trails includes both the one from Keswick in September and the 14k(very)ish from Coniston in October. KinkyS and flanker do indeed still run them - I've also seen Badger there this year but keep missing beebop. Gromit and C-Cat were at the ultra a couple of weeks ago. These days, I support behind the scenes on event delivery. website for anybody interested is lakelandtrails.org And another vote for a wander along Scout Scar - I was last up there at the end of last week (had a day off so went for a walk from home). If you have time it's also worth heading off the north end and back up onto Cunswick Scar - another great viewpoint for the Kentmere fells. if anybody is about in November - the KMF Trail race takes in the best of both. |

Is Scout Scar the other side of the Kendal bypass. I'm sure there is a limestone escarpment. Run it two or three times.

Might have a look at the autumn ones then. And now I see what you mean by the District Double - might be fun

I’ve done three Lakeland Trails races this year (Hawkshead 17k, Coniston Marathon and UT55k) and they were all great. I ran Derwentwater last year and strongly recommend that - beautiful course, pretty runnable, especially the descent back into Keswick (would probably be slippy underfoot if it rained enough I imagine!) Back for more next year, but probably not for the autumn races this year. Coniston just possibly. |
