The moors up above us are already v dry - even the local's boggy routes are dry, and it's only May. Did you see the headline at the bottom of the fire article? "Woman rescued from Barrow slag bank". Sounds even worse than nights out in Kendal

Never, ever, ever seen the hills so dry. After the drought last year we needed a lot more rain this winter to get back to even.

Hoping to escape for two or three nights towards the end of next week - maybe saying that will make it rain, but there's not a lot in the forecast and I've generally been pretty lucky with the weather
