Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Sandy, Beds? How can Bedfordshire be East Anglia?

A propos Derby: Is the Peak District not Derbyshire? That surely is The North, albeit the southernmost of the North. Making Derby itself unequivocally Midlands.

I then started wondering what comprised the South-East, but I realised that that way lead to madness, so I stopped.

Dvorak, it's simple:
Inside m25 - central London
South of watford gap, east of bristol - greater london
West of bristol - Wales
North of Watford gap and south of derby - midlands
North of derby to newcastle - The North
North of Newcastle - Scotland
North of inverness - there be dragons

Little Chef is already in.

Love the Fetch Mile definition of East Anglia.

So Braintree (and thus Chelmsford) is/are in. Ipswich (and thus Woodbridge) is/are out.

This makes me most happy.

'south east' is daft as previously stated. Some definitions exclude Kent which is both. Most include Bucks which is neither.

We had a student working with us years ago who claimed Oxford was in the Midlands. Ludicrous

Anyone who's ever attempted the last 20 miles of the Stour Valley Path will happily push those who deny Suffolk has mountains into a cow pat.
