None of them had any chance of making it hard for Keely TBH. They can't beat her in a fast race and she's pretty decent over 400 as well so she's fine in a slow race although I've not checked if anyone in that race is a great 400 runner.

Good bronze for the women's 400 relay there. Can see what Jodie was trying to do as they needed a decent lead to have chance for gold but she ran out of legs at about 350.

Yep, natural to hope you'll be able to hang on (even given past difficulties) ... Yeargan actually did really well on final leg, who on earth (in Europe) stands a chance against fabulous Femke!

I reckon commentators and pundits just like saying Femke-Bol. Almost as one word .. I know we do!

A word of praise for Lizzie Bird, 3000m Steeplechase: a picture of pain on the last lap - and a bronze medal.

Good 800 there. Garcia held on well as I thought Wightman was going to get past.

My thoughts too. I genuinely thought Wightman was going to take him in the home straight.

I don’t remember Ireland having so many athletes making finals historically. Have they benefited from their not being 2 or 3 Russians in each event, or is there something else going on (thinking like how lottery money has helped British sport?)
