HB, how the hell does one train for Endure? I figure that last year's effort is training for this year's attempt. Would like to try to do more than the 70 miles I managed last year - but am not feeling as fit as last time. We shall see. Maybe if I don't have a 5hour sleep I'll manage more miles! And maybe see the fairies....
Will be nice to see you!

I think the first year I just trained to half marathon distance, so i knew I could run that in one go, and then hoped the breaks in between the laps wouldn't result in my legs seizing up! Think i did five laps in the end with the team, so it worked. Sort of.
I have run further than 5k in one go once, in the last 18 months. So yeah, this is likely to be a crash and burn effort! Have warned the team though, so they know what to expect from me.
70 miles is a terrific effort. Will no doubt see you running past me on a lap or two!

I can't wait for another crack at this. I'm in a much better condition than last year so hope to, at least, beat 85 miles. So many variables though....
See you all there.

I'm in and in a team of 5 this year. Haven't done any specific training but I'm sure I'll cope!

I've been in a team and a pair and will be giving solo a try for the first time. Anyone got any tips?

Don't stop and sit down for more than 20 minutes at a time or your body will start to seize up and there is no way back

I know someone that did 100miles last year. He tried to do each lap in the same time from start to finish ie 1 lap an hour. He walked the hills right from the start. If you keep that up you get 4 hours rest at the end! I think he took 2 hours sleep in the middle. Sounds easy, doesn't it? By the way, he's a sub 2h45m marathoner and very fit.

Thanks.
The most I have done in one go is 50 miles in SDW50. I was very cautious, walked all the hills, resisted trying to speed up when it seemed to be going well and came in at 11.32. I got the great tip not to sit down then as well and only did so once.
My first goal is to get past 50. After that it's unknown territory.

Yes Chunky averaging a lap an hour is the target to allow some leeway 👍
