I've only heard one person posting anywhere to say they had a good run at Edinburgh Love the idea of popping into a shop for a coke though!

3:20:14 for me just outside PB, had paced for sub 3:15 and ran 3:11 pace till 18 miles, wheels came off a bit but dug in for a decent time overall, 3rd marathon in 12 weeks running 3:21/3:19 and 3:20 so pleased and feel more to come after a good race.

I popped into the Mall Galleries for a loo stop during the Royal Parks Half once, but have never stopped to buy a drink.

Sarabop was about 2 mins ahead of me at 17 miles, good for about 4.10 if she kept the pace up (which I didn't :-))

Was late for the start because the police had closed the roads and I had to walk about 5 mile over arthurs seat to get there but..had a great race...rubbish time though, my plan to get a negative split didn't work lol but it's not just about times, it's who you meet and the stories you hear. The angels and fairies turned up at 24 mile, as usual, to lift us in.

A more detailed race report from me. Awful.
The hooter went and we were off! I promised myself I'd take the first few miles nice and steady, deliberately slowing myself down and enjoying the running. But trouble wasn't far away. After 4 miles at 7:08 pace, or so, my thighs were feeling tired and sore. Those of you who know me will know that I recently bagged a 20 miler in 2:20 and a half marathon in 1:28 so this felt really unusual. I maintained the pace though but my 9 miles, my legs were goosed. Reasons were running through my mind.... too much of a taper? Sore throat all week had more of an effect than I thought? I'm not sure of the reason but plodded on anyway - the race takes us along the same route as the Edinburgh to North Berwick and the sun was shining - great crowds lined the roads and it was enough to keep my going. At 8.2 miles, I passed a crowd from Fetcheveryone and got a big cheer and a boost! Had to stop for a pee at 15 miles, losing 30 seconds but that was fine....reached 20 miles spot on my target of 2:25. I should have been on for a sub-3:15. Mile 21 felt quite good, if slow. Mile 22 was harder. Mile 23 - the slightest attempt at keeping my stride length led to cramps. Mile 24 - had to walk a section, losing the will to live. Mile 25 - agonising cramps that stopped me dead in the street. Hobbling to the side and helped to stay on my feet by a member of the crowd, stretched it off. Took about 13 minutes for that mile. Could hardly move. Mile 26, the most awful mile of my life. Hobbling along, thighs cramping at front and back, 100s of runners streaming by. Finishing straight, a broken man, nothing left - I'm sure the photo will be the poster for a new horror movie. Crossed the line and just burst into tears - never happened before - don't know why - just my body's way of letting it go I suppose. Horrific.
I know you'll think I'll go back on this but I promise, I swear - I will never ever do another marathon again.
