That's easy. They aren't within 6 games of 8th seed. That was the cut off.

Given there's only 8 regular season games left, they had no chance of making the playoffs.

Okay. GB I can get to 22 if I put the cut at 30. Seems harsh on the eastern teams though.

Is it harsh though? Those outside the playoffs in the East are just not as good vs the West. Cutoff in the West was two wins higher and 5 teams still made it!

The battle for the last place in the West could be interesting. The East looks set.

Whether any seedings change will be interesting. I haven't looked at the schedule yet but given teams can only play each other (each team will play the next 8 games that they'd have played against one of the other 21), it's possible for a few teams to have a really tough last 8.

I'm assuming no one can play the same team twice though, even if that was on the cards. Playing the Bucks twice would be terrible, while getting the Wizards would be pretty nice.

Yeah, based on form avoid Lakers and Clippers but that all goes out the window now. All about who can get to form quickly.

Found this article with presumed schedules which does include duplicate games, so Boston get the Wizards twice which is nice, while the Nets gets the Clippers twice which is not, lol.
