I think the NFL would be amazing if it was split into two divisions of 16 with promotion and relegation. It would drastically reduce the number of meaningless games and tanking for the draft

It's really hard to measure but how many successful tankers have come back and pushed for playoffs either the next season or within 2-3 years?
The Browns have been tanking for ever with not a lot to show for it.

I guess maybe it is more of a basketball and to some extent baseball thing
I guess also “rebuilding” teams which accept a bad season to restore cap overspends and rebuild draft war chests
