Two weeks ago I did a big hill run and hill walk in the same day and had terrible DOMS for 3 days. On the fourth day I still had pain but I didn't grimace going down the stairs. Today I did a similar hill run and at the moment I feel fine, no aching, no particular tightness, but I know DOMS will come tomorrow. Any advice for lessening it? By the way, I had a cold shower when I got back from the run and have done some gentle stretching. Thank you in advance!

I don't think you can do much more than you've done. Just maybe stretch out a bit more again later before bed and if you can get someone to give you legs a bit of a rub down. You never know you may get away with it this time

I don't have a foam roller.. I'm guessing a firm kitchen roll wouldn't do the trick..?
Although I'll happily use this as an excuse for a massage!
Fingers crossed I don't wake up feeling like my legs are made of lego.. lego that's on fire.

You can use a wine bottle in a pinch. It'll hurt like all buggery but you can do it.

MrsHL relies on the muscle-relaxant properties of red wine.
