In the long-running BBC television science fiction programme Doctor Who and related works, the term "companion" refers to a character who travels or shares adventures with the Doctor. In most Doctor Who stories, the primary companion acts as an audience surrogate.
Putting them all in a cage in Fetchland and watching them fight to death seems the least we can do.
--- DISCLAIMER: If Rose Tyler doesn't get to beat River Song in the final there's going to be trouble. Or sulking, at least.

That IS a cracker. It was always Sarah Jane for me, but you know, I have a K9 soft spot in the affirmative.

Rose Tyler-era Doctor Who was a big part of my re-emergence into the mainstream of humanity, and I fancy River Song something painful.
In terms of 'good' companions I liked Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart, strange to relate. And Amy Pond.

Hmm, I suspect certain fetchies of a certain age may have a bearing of the outcome.
I include myself amongst their number.

The vast majority of fetchies are of a certain age, people here will still be banging on about Valerie Singleton and Rainbow in 20 years time, and running very slowly indeed.

In the beginning, if I recall correctly, the 'companions' were rather reluctant to join Wm Hartnell in his rather dodgy looking example of BBC set construction.

I stopped watching Dr Who when Sylvester McCoy took over. Therefore I am willfully ignorant of later companions.
I was always a fan of the Dr/Tegan/Nyssa triumverate.

I'm going to struggle with the newer ones.
Can we confirm that Konnie Huq is NOT on the startlist before I commit any time to this DM?

No Konnie Huq - but we do have Bernard Cribbins. Did he ever present Blue Peter?

I was going to say I'd like to see Bernard Cribbins make good progress in this - but again that probably dates me
