Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I've used Duolingo a bit to remind myself of the French and German I've forgotten over the years. For a free app, you really can't complain!

If there's a demand for a language - even a made up one - they'll do it. It doesn't put me off.

I am 10% fluent in French according to Duolingo. I should have paid more attention at school. It is American as it translates 'pantalons' into 'pants' and 'maman' into 'mom'.

I woreked in the kitchen yesterday instead of my office as I was seeking inspiration. It didn't work but it was hany being closer to the kettle than usual.

However, on the chat rooms in Duolingo, people were asking for an Estonian course. This one was suggested:

keeleklikk.ee

Maybe have a look DeeGee, see what you think?

I've chosen a different presentation to the one I would usually go to at the conference.

Thanks McG. It looks pretty good. I'll get the politesse out of the way for my weekend there, before going back to Duolingo and sharpening my Polish.

And that's a new(ish) thing for today. I've signed up for an online Estonian course. Although as I already have at least "a little bit" of seven other languages, and I don't plan on getting further than being polite before staring blankly at follow up questions, I'm not sure I want to count it.

Newt jingling for me too! I have made some (very pink) marshmallow crispie squares and a chocolate fudge cake for my daughters 16th birthday. I should have made more cake mix for the size of the tins I used but what it lacks in cake it makes up for in chocolate fudge filling and topping!
