Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Is it quite soft, like Swedish? So a g is a y for us - Gothenburg sounds likes Gertenberya. Or it did in the audiobook of Larsson's Millennium trilogy.

I knew the word for "girl" from watching Scandi Noir but had no idea that that was the spelling. Similarly I knew all of the Spanish words on Sharkie's list but had learned them via audiobook.

When we were in Denmark we stayed in the town of Vejen which after much difficulty I was pronouncing Viy-un.

Vej means 'road' or 'way', so the road in is called Vejenvej. I managed to stop calling it Vedge-un-vedge but it is not pronounced Viy-un-viy either. Very tricky.

Saw my first crocuses/croci today :-)

Also tried a new route home this evening (public transport rather than running) and decided not to read or look at my phone but just to sit and look out of the window.

I have started reading a non-fiction book about a subject that I have very little real interest in - there *is* a good reason which I will most likely blog about on Saturday.

Oooh, 'citing, Bint :)
My new thing was going to a new place (Welwyn Garden City, much nicer than Bracknell if you're comparing New Towns (see, another New!)) and meeting lots of new people, showing my shiny new poster to new people. I'm all newed out and knackered.

I tried some hats on today. Results: Not all our new spring things are going to pay off are they.

Ooh I like this thread.

Today I had scrambled egg for breakfast on a work day which is new. It kept me going until (almost) lunchtime. Yesterday I wore a new top which got some nice comments. I have also been doing yoga regularly for the last few weeks and dipping into mindfulness again.

Nice ideas going around here. The Duolingo website looks fun so it might be the little kick I need to pick up language learning again. The challenge is that I have trouble sticking to just one language and keep switching around!

I had some new moves in my personal training session today. Mostly involving rolling on the floor!
