Simon Hughes on BBC live text...
What a comeback by Alex Hales. He's responded with a breathtaking, swashbuckling hundred. It hasn't been particularly pretty but my goodness, it's been brutal and very effective.

About to leave. Will listen to TMS in the car. I was bang on about Hales. I'm on track for the 330. Just remember what I said about Finn...

Having someone like Hales up top means that you can have the traditional England collapse, but still end up with a 300+ total on the board...clever...
In the old days Boycott and Brearley would nurdle away at 2.5 an over 'building a foundation', which meant that the traditional collapse would leave something sub 200 on the board.
