Finn was definitely bowling well in the warm up games, as was Woakes, when they were being treated as senior bowlers. Woakes was even being given the new ball. Come the games where it matters they are both virtually overlooked, and in Finn's case dropped, ... and you wonder why they lose confidence. Especially since neither Jimmy or Broad were bowling well but still getting the preferential treatment from Gregory.

3 fairly one sided qtrs so far - can some Gayle pyrotechnics make the 4th closer?
If not, the semis look Volcanically good....

Well so far the Quaters have highlighted the boring nature of one day cricket. Let's hope for a closer game between WI & NZ.

Well another one sided game under way! Not a good advert for The Summer Game.

Well Peck Peck is STILL in post, but let's concentrate on some good things instead...
NZ-SA. Looks a classic this, I'm going for SA. Apparently the whole of NZ is going bonkers for this tourno, so the pressure and expectation wil be huge and will get to them if this ends up a nerve jangler as seems certain.
Aus-India. Edge on bowling firepower for the Australians, so they'll join SA in the final.

Surprised no-ones grumbled about the fact there are 6 Yorkies in the England squad for the WI.
Lyth must be a shoe-in to open after a century in the MCC v Yorks game. Suspect that Trott will replace Ballance, although that'd be very unfair on him - his test form has been outstanding so far.
Root obviously in. Bairstow probably won't play, Rashid and Plunkett....maybe. But they've got to let plunkett bowl properly like Yorkshire use him, not messing about making him bowl continuous bouncers.
More interesting in what Yorkshire are going to do in defence of their title, it's looking like: Leaning, Lees opening, Hodd Wicket (6), Gale (after suspension), (3), Rhodes (after his knock today) at 5 as allrounder. Bowlers Sidey, Bres, Patterson, Brooks and Karl Caver as spinner.
Guess Rich Pyrah will come in as a batsman at 4, or Johnny Tattershall.
A bit worryingly short in the batting dept with so many in the Caribbean....

Nerve jangler underway at Eden park.
NZ require 85 off 10 overs, with 6 wickets. Brilliance from McCullum early, when he departed NZ were 71 odd nearer the target after 5 (five) overs. Takes so much pressure off the middle order when one of your openers does that. So much better than the England way of nudging and nurdling away, piling up the run rate for the middle and late part of the innings.
Glad he was out when he was, I was too transfixed to move and wouldn;t have made it down the gym for the pre work session I had planned...
Still could go either way.

Come on NZ! A better game, thanks to the rain. Otherwise very likely SA would have gone beyond 300 and won. Now NZ ahead, so long as they do not loose another wicket too soon. 7.8 run rate. Interesting😀
