Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

This NRR stuff throws up some odd scenarios. The netherlands might need 1 run to win the game, hit a single, but choose not to run it, as it would put them out, whereas a dot ball followed by a boundary would put them through.

Tough, but should be routine for a test-standard keeper. Shame he’s not.

File it under the vaguaries of cricket rules. I remember a Big Bash T20 where the result was already certain but it rained and so went as a no result because 5 overs hadn’t been bowled.

It does open up the possibility for Australian behavior by the Scots though. They could get to a situation where deliberately bowling a wide or no-ball, or kicking the ball over the boundary would ensure they go through.

Fortunately, the real run rate for the Dutch is now above 7 per over, so shouldn't come to that.

Yes. Hadn’t thought of it like that. Very good point.

This is fun.
Hope you are following the real cricket though Baz.

Last few overs have certainly put Scotland in a good position.
