Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Interesting to hear Jim Maxwell talking about cricket bats yesterday, saying that someone (bowler, umpire, non-striking batsman) will be seriously injured soon by the speed of the ball when struck with the modern bat. He thinks they should change the rules on what is allowed, but fears that they won't until it is too late for some poor sod.

probably a very valid point. I guess the bowler as most at risk as in the follow through he might not see it or be able to evade it.

Arse. Maybe Cook scratching around for 30 off 45 balls might not have been so bad....:-(

Well played Skip. Whilst it won't stave off a defeat after a comfortable chase, humiliation has been given a swerve and at least Morgan will be able to give the rest of them a coating from a position of having justified his place in the team and as leader.

nowhere near enough dispite the pitch. I think it says a lot about their bowling compared to ours........

Yep, sounds like we got done by the classic Aussie tactic: serve up some tame warm ups with friendly gentle bowling on placid pitches, so we are completely unprepared for two hostile 90mph+ quicks roaring in from the very first ball on a spicier pitch when the real stuff begins. They do it every time and it seems to work almost as often....2 back in the hutch after 3 deliveries....

It's Amazing. Bell is not an opener. I know it's an ODI, but you have to be an opener.

So we've gone from a proper opener who's game is utterly shot and ill suited to ODI's anyway to an opener who's not an opener but is at least a proper batsman. Next step is usually the panicked introduction of a hitter who should bat at 6 because we can;t score quickly enough early in the innings...

That's just about right, when you look at our 1-7, Bell looks out of place now.

Shows you how good Warner is.

Same old today! Failed to bat out our 50 overs and then they win with 61 balls to spare.
