He'd probably be playing a specialist batsman in the current setup. His test "career" coincided with Strauss, Cook, Trott, Pietersen, Collingwood, Bell and Prior. All of whom averaged more than 40.

Getting 130 off 70 down to 24 off 12 and then getting out and leaving it to the bowlers to fail is "finishing"
