Winning with a draw? It's not cricket.

Fairly unsatisfactory competition in the end - three teams going through the season undefeated. Best that could be managed in the circumstances, I suppose. Be interesting to see how well T20 games in October work out.

Timeless game, play until one needs to get a boat home.

Proper pyjama game would have had a super over.
Proper long form game would have called it an honourable draw.
What sort of miserable bastard compromise is this?
Oh and congratulations Essex

Same thing happened last year. Winner stays on. Until Somerset actually beat us we keep the title.
Apparently some other teams play red ball cricket too, they’re just shit at it.
Can’t we just play Somerset home, away and at a neutral venue next year and make it best of three?

Well thats Essex won the County Championship, the 60ish over Gillettewest Trophycup, the 55ish over golden fag packet Cup, the 40 over thingy and the 20 over bish bash. And now the Covid Championshipette. That's a unique haul of dodgy sponsor's wares.

Excellent idea GregP. Back to the 'good old days' of the 1850s, we'll just have random challenges between counties to make £££.

Greppers, I'll happily have my side meet yours at Lords annually!! We have a fine young side (4 of the top 5 are 22 and under, with the skipper 26). There are more on the way too.
Congratulations, again, to Essex for not beating us but being given the win by the ECB
No, genuinely, although the margins are tighter, a deserved win. My boys will get over the line soon though
Expect to see some form of Bob next year, I think.

IPL game yesterday had a pretty spectacular ending.
Rajasthan Royals needed 51 runs from 3 overs. The scoring then went as follows:
(18th over) 6666.6 (19th over) W6616W
(20th over) .W4
Won with 3 balls to spare, record IPL run chase of 223. Rahul Tewatia got 17 runs off his first 23 balls, then 36 in balls.
