Because the finals are at Edgbaston and no fans are allowed in, I propose a new way of deciding rain affected matches....
Each team nominates one player to sit in the Hollis Stand and create a beer snake in the time it usually takes to bowl 20 overs.
Samit for the win.

We should use the traditional most Northern team wins.

Looks like there's a chance of play tomorrow afternoon/evening - might be able to get three 5-over games in.

Too late now but I did see a suggestion that Finals Day should be at the beginning of next season. Apart from being drier, there's also a better chance of having spectators.

'Presumably if there's no play, Essex win because they have the shortest name, or something?'
This rule only applies when Somerset are the opposition.
'We should use the traditional most Northern team wins.'
Scotland... Come on down!

Finals Day has been abandoned for Saturday. The schedule and timings will remain in place for tomorrow.
The ECB have announced that if Sunday is also a wash-out, then Finals Day will be rescheduled for 7 October with no reserve day. However, if one semi-final can be concluded on the pitch tomorrow; i.e. 5 overs per side minimum, then the other matches will be decided by a bowl out.
In theory, that means if the first semi-final cannot be played, they cannot do a bowl out until the scheduled conclusion of the second semi-final.

Kind of makes sense, as long as Notts win the bowl out.

I can't see it happening tomorrow looking at the forecast. I don't think it's stopped raining here today!

Let's now hope for a washout tomorrow!
Wednesday 7 October is the last dry/sunny day before the next batch of rain is due. That will give the groundsmen Monday and Tuesday to get the outfield as dry as possible.
