I think so. This younger players stuff is disingenuous. I think we're in for some fallow times.
He's won more matches for England than any other player I can think of.
Still, he'll make a packet now he's free for the whole of the IPL. I'll be tuning in.

Andy Flower's parting shot, he is still a selector. Whatever you think of Pietersen, he's box office, was the top average run scorer in the disastrous Aussie series. Yes he gave his wicket away stupidly but who didn't?
What would happen if the new coach said "I can manage KP I want him selected?" It won't of course as we're gonna be stuck with Giles -whose recent record is also losing.

KP should have been dispensed with several years ago.

Agree, with Paul, a team sport is exactly than a team.

Sad day. No doubt he'll be replaced by a county nudger and nurdler and our batting will become even more passive. As someone said, score 40 trying to play shots, take the initiative and get out that way and you're a selfish bastard. Score 40 scratching around at 2 an over (even if the game situation warrants faster scoring) and you get hardly any grief.
On another note, someone else who should exit stage left. Henry Blofeld, the dear old thing. As amusing as ever between deliveries, but the action itself seems to confuse the heck out of him.

I totally agree with Paul on this one. Please study the amount of games that Geoff Boycott finished either hitting the wiining runs or being not out - think you'll find it's nearly treble that of KP. Cricket is a team sport and KP has made it blatently obvious that he feels he is much larger than the game and England - he isn't. I think he should follow Wessels and qualify for S Africa and go back home. Thanks for the fleeting moments of brilliance but would rather have a Cook,Bell or Boycott at the wicket any day of the week (team players). The purest and real true test and form of the game is Test Match Cricket, enjoy the 20/20 life KP - you're totally suited to it. I'll be there applauding when Cooky overtakes KP in runs - won't be too long now.
