Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I'm hoping that having had it in July I can miss this wave. As one of the few people still wearing a mask on the tube and in shops, it seems like nearly everyone else in London has given up.

Still 100% commuter wearing and 80% plus shop wearing up here in Central Scotland I'd estimate.

Still hoping not to get it thanks! :-) G

Stepdad has caught it this week after a probable case back in Jan 2020. He's diabetic, so a bit concerning, however he is boosted and already has a CPAP.

Probably a maskless meeting was the cause.

Still mask wearing in communal areas at work here.

We have a work lunch on Tuesday, postponed from Christmas. Beginning to think it's not such a good idea now, either! There will be about 50 of us.

We had our delayed Christmas party last Friday. It was nice to be out - all the folk attending are working in the same open plan office space so felt no additional risk- however as an event it was flatter than the normal office dinner. I think more to do with folk just being really tired and busy.

Attended a graduate recruitment evening for my work which on reflection was probably the “covid riskiest” event I have been at for 2 years. Everyone in masks but a lot of mingling and chatting with 90 odd under grads and post grads.

There is an interesting observation coming the grad recruitment process is that a lot of grads are not actually applying to firms just yet. We are getting a lot of post grads and other non-traditional routes into the firm. I think it’s due to the fact that the Uni experience has been so out of sorts past 2 years that grads are looking at doing something different for a couple of years or so (more post grad) before moving into career perhaps because the experience of that phase of life has been missed.

Quite a significant non mask wearing contingent on the bus today. Including one guy wearing as a chinstrap band pulled it over his mouth as he headied for the exit.

Mask wearing still 80-90% near me.

Yet Scotland has highest case rate.

Odd.

[Scotland just doesn’t include what you define as “near you”, also people may wear masks more because the rate is so high]
