How can you score a whopping 47 points, have 13.5 second head start in the eliminator, up against an opponent with an injury and still lose?

Mucked up the trapeze with not enough momentum and having short legs, I think was the deciding thing, and not doing the travelator in one of course.

Great episode today, we were Team Betti all the way (love how she left Bradley genuinely speechless), but it'd be a shame not to see Tuathlaith again.

Am I right that it's only been 5 episodes so far, and we're already on to the QFs? So that must be 5 winners and 3 fastest runner ups - bit shit for the two people knocked out if so!

I thought it would be seven winners and one fastest loser. If there are only six quarter-finalists, I wonder whether the semi-finalists will be three winners and one fastest loser.

That makes more sense.

Hopefully it'll be recommissioned for a longer series, with a larger range of games :)

I came across the following website. It covers a list of the old games and gladiators. I didn't realise that there was so many.

Didn't recognise one of those - Breakthrough & Conquer - says it was only at the live shows though.

There's a good few there that I'd forgotten though, great find :)

Not sure about tonight's show - seems a bit dodgy to introduce a brand new contender into the QFs, rather than a lucky loser... I'm also tired of Viper's games skewing the scores - it's not right to get a 10 point swing for drawing the "joke" gladiator.

Just got around to watching last Saturday's [first] QF.

Totally agree regarding the new contender (Wesley) rather than the second fastest loser from the five heats. Yes, he did well but a fresh contender at this stage seems unfair. Finlay must be kicking himself for not getting 2-4 points at least from Gauntlet which may have changed the result. However, he may have been worse off physically.

Interesting that the female gladiators got a bit silly during Gauntlet. Must be some sort of deviation from their poor showing in that event throughout the series.

I'm a little unconvinced about the walkover 18 points in The Edge if the gladiator falls off. It totally changed the scoreboard through no fault of Bronte. Maybe reduce each crossing to 2 points once the gladiator comes off or only allow a maximum of 15 points whatever.

I don't like spoilers but I was already aware of some injured gladiators having read the Wikipedia page. Hence, I have been quiet on the subject and was waiting for it to be aired.

The first was not shown in the past week's episode but it was apparently the show in question. The exact event was not mentioned but it involved Comet. Bizarrely, this actually happened last June. A real pity as we had not seen much of her anyway (a bit like Fire).

It seems that the show are not going to mention it, so I thought I'd let you know in case you're wondering where she is. I'll keep quiet on the other as they were still fit and well on Saturday!

I've been wondering how they film this. I doubt they film it one show at a time, and suspect they film it one event at a time. So all the QF duels are filmed, then all the Walls, etc. That seems like the way to let contenders rest between events without the audience being bored for long periods (and make the set redesigns simpler). So I would imagine all 3 QFs were filmed together. The presenters seem to wear the same suits, which helps with continuity for that.

I wonder if Wesley was a reserve gladiator as well as reserve contestant. They can probably handle one gladiator being injured, but if a couple they might need to rope someone in. It would be weird if they picked a previous loser to do that.

Part of me hates all the nonsense of gladiators misbehaving. But part of me realises that when I watched it as a kid it was just as scripted but I never noticed.
