Apparently I’m the first Fetchie in Shenzhen although I am a bit dubious due to not actually being able to check if Conquercise has me in the right place. I can’t see a map against the zone - I’m guessing that’s because there is no openstreetmap here and the Chinese apparently hate Google and block all their content.

Had a peek, chunywizard, seems you are the owner. Just found the Ritz-Carlton Shenzhen (which is obviously your hotel) and voila!

Thanks. I just see a blank screen :-S I’m at the Four Seasons but it’s very close to the Ritz Carlton and my activity was a walk between the 2! I’ve been on the treadmill the past days but I might check out the local park tomorrow.

I named a zone “land of Anne Summers”. To be fair it is their global headquarters and a notable local landmark

After much heather bashing yesterday I managed to conquer a previously unconquered zone in the hills. Such a good feeling !

I have done some of that. Loses it's appeal for me quickly, especially where there is bog in places!
Now I wait till someone builds an eyesore of a road to service shooting or wind farms.

My Geography projects teacher from many moons ago liked his students O/S maps to be grubby, mucky and torn as it demonstrated that they had been well used in the field. I'm sure in this thread of zone hunters we have many owners of grubby maps. Here is mine.

Here's one of mine:
Quite handy as I only need to take the pieces with me that I actually need.

My copy of that map looks very similar albeit a bit soggier on some pieces. These days I mostly print off an A4 sheet showing the bit I need and then put it inside a clear plastic envelope.

Nice EdJ. I have a few friends who print off maps from the internet when we go a route finding. Maybe I'm old school (or just old) but I do love a good OS Map.
We jaunt on Friday grabbed me 9 owners and 3 zones I've been waiting for to collect all of the Mearns area.
