Netball final yesterday was excellent, just a shame Jamaica lost. Table tennis was decent as well. Now at badminton to end the games.

Yes, the official photo finish pictures the second one you posted there. I'm just surprised there isn't an archive of those sorts of things, for "public" scrutiny. It needs to be as transparent as possible. Even the basis of the decision. Was it one official or is there a committee or board of 3? Was it unanimous or a split decision. Possibly even the wording "In the image, the officials judged that the torso of competitor A, which is immediately below the arm pit, is ahead of ..." etc.

Because in that pic above it looks like Goule is ahead to me! :-O But I'm not the decision maker! :-) G

Could/should there be pictures from multiple angles (from the inside at least, as well as outside?) What happens when they are 3 abreast and middle one is obscured from both sides? What about using a "hawkeye" type simulation, like in cricket and tennis for the path of the runner?

Or are we all just lovely sporting people and accept the outcome? How much money is the difference between bronze and 4th? (There is money in Commonwealth games, isn't there?)

I'm not sure there's too much money involved. Maybe extra sponsorship, but from what I've seen with GB Cycling, their metrics and funding is all on Olympic Medals and UCI Championships performance & results.

So CWG is (my words, not theirs) irrelevent to them in funding terms. I don't thing CWG counts, or even mentioned, in Athetes Performance Awards either.

This suggests you don't get your whole shoulder (or much at all) included in photo finish, goes to end of collarbone:

Certainly makes Muir photo look pretty close! None of her shoulder muscle counts if I am reading it correctly
