Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

it had 2000ft of ascent as well UltraContro... I was sticking to the prescribed pace of 6min/k, but was a bit slower uphill and faster downhill, but worked hard on not increasing effort both uphill and downhill.

that is the important thing, stick to the planned pace! But that is great great news, 31 km starts to be a more than decent distance!

Well, I did do 13 miles and 6000ft on the fells as well, on Friday afternoon. Time on feet 4 hours, running time 3.29 hrs, so that was pretty good endurance work too :-)

The longest run I have done this year was Man v. Horse mid June: 22 miles, I was running for 3hrs 42 minutes. Another long fell race was done in May, 19 miles in 3.39... so I think the endurance is looking good with 5 more long runs to come as well!

I need to work on the speed though! Race tonight, intervals Thursday and from now on I need to be consistent with those. Intervals once a week and race or race-pace temporun once a week as well!

I have a 10k race planned for Sunday, to see how my speed is right now. I am hoping for a pb :-)

The Dark Lord seems to leave me to my own devices right now, so I am probably doing things right :-) The six LSR's, the Bristol Half and the race/racepace run and intervals once a week are the key, the rest is just filling in the additional miles, keeping the legs loose and moving well :-)

in my own opinion, the intervals might not be necessary and can lead to injury, i have done only once intervals since the beginning of the year, but i won't meddle with your training plan ...

Well, I don't really have a plan as such and so far have done the intervals only one... they are 1km intervals at 10k racepace with 1 minute recoveries, so not too strenuous, more baced on endurance speed than anything else...
