I stayed in Premier Inn Wrexham North. Cheaper and 10 mins drive from race course

Cheers ndellar, I've spotted a Holiday Inn at racecourse for £99 including breakfast which would be ideal for a 1 night stay and quick getaway after the race, looks favourite at present & available with free cancellation.

I've stayed at the Holiday Inn Express on the racecourse a couple of times. It's ideal for the start of Chester marathon and especially a last minute loo visit. However, compared to other Holiday Inns it is a bit down at heel given the price they charge and could do with some upgrading. Still, I guess they know they have an deal spot so can charge the rates they do.

City Centre Premier Inn worked well for me, but was a bit more expensive than ideal....15-20 min walk before and after and we had to pay for an NCP carpark....also no late check out, but managed to make use of the jockeys shower room...

There is a Crown Plaza too which is about 5-10 mins walk from the start.

Cheers for all the replies, going for the convenience of th racecourse hotel as only a 1 nighter & luxury not required.
