Eww, why are cats so gross?

Vets have had to keep Poppy in just now as she’d eaten this morning and they need to sedate her to get bloods. She’s not going to be happy with me when I get her home.

She was much better this morning but hoping bloods will give us an answer as to what is going on.

Do you think cats ever wake up the morning after the mouse before and say "Never again" but then forget themselves the next evening a mouse appears?

I think so. I think Merlin does that every time he is sick after consuming one.

Found half chewed mouse in garden. Apparently she brought it in the upstairs window last night and then MrS had to chase the cat who was chasing the mouse down the stairs. Not sure how I slept through that. He then shut her out and shut the window so she woke him up mewing pitifully. And was then sick.
Glad Poppy feeling a bit better x

I have been known to pick up Lasya, mouse in mouth, and chuck her out. I reward her for catching mice but not bringing them in. This works 95% of the time. I find mice in various stages of consumption on my entrance area and the garden path to it... Less gross than in the house. However, one or two a year slip through the net. Could be mice caught in the house though! There was one gnawing away inside the floor cavity or boxed in H profile beam. It drove both Lasya and I crazy until I knocked the ceiling and beam with a broom handle.

Pleased to hear Poppy's a bit better.

Lenin used to bring in mice and leave them half-eaten. Caspar has so far not figured out that they're edible, as far as I can tell.

This happened today. (Please ignore the mess.) This is PROGRESS! Kyri has his own little "den" for food & litter. Caspar came out from under our bed and went to eat from Kyri's food bowl - despite the presence of Kyri. And Kyri didn't rush at him or chase him, just watched him eating. Afterward, Caspar dashed past Kyri back under the bed.

We're nowhere near this point with Kyri and Ellie, but things are moving in the right direction at least.

That’s great news SK. They will find the order of things. Got Poppy home but still waiting for vet to call with blood results. Poppy was very pissed off about having to spend the day there. She has however forgiven me and is sitting on my lap.
