He has a catflap and when it's late or wet I open the side gate so he can get round the back without going through undergrowth or jumping over a fence. He even shouts at the neighbour when she is coming and going. She's having none of it and tells him go use the catflap.

He sits at a "crossroads" in our flat, so a cat coming in through the catflap is stuck unless they're willing to pass him. It's funny in some ways, I've never seen cats playing games like this - I've read of the behaviour but not seen it.
