[On a more serious note, it doesn't seem that this trial is the consequence of requests from users. It's rather an experiment that staff have come up with.]

[Does this helpdesk team actually want people to come and approach them? Very strange behaviour. Most would prefer to be in the basement with the stairs out and a "beware of the leopard" sign on the door.]

Will there be a coffee machine to go with the coffee table, as a third space facilitation intervention?

Dear all,
As you know, the West Room Roof needs to be replaced and the Estates led project to do this will be taking place from July 2023 until early 2024. From mid-June and for the duration of the roof repair works, the CLAS team will be relocated as follows: Ingest will be based in the Training Room,
Collections Logistics will be based in the North Reading Room Corridor, Document Delivery/Scan and Deliver will be based in the South Wing ground floor.
As a result, the Training Room will close to staff from June and will not be available for booking until after the roof repair is complete and the Ingest team rehoused. We will keep you updated with the progress of the repairs and an indication of when the Training Room is likely to be reopened as a meeting room as we get the information. If you are organising a meeting or event that would have taken place in the Training Room and you are struggling to find another room in the building then please contact Xxxxx Xxxxx-Xxxxx, Project Manager for the West Room Roof Project. All staff with meetings that already been booked in the Training Room from June 2023 onwards have been contacted.
Please also be aware that the North Reading Room Corridor will be closed from next week due to this project. Again, we will let you know when this space is likely to reopen.
With best wishes and many thanks to all those involved in or affected by these moves
[I'm not affected by the moves at all. I am, however, traumatised by this email.]

Can't compete with Academia, Glen!
But:
"Please find enclosed a flyer for the Promotions in the Canteen fir (sic.) the month of June, which includes:
• National Picnic Week 19th – 23rd June
• Celebrate Pride Month 19th – 23rd June
• National Hydration Day – Friday 23rd June"
I shall be largely avoiding the Canteen....

Rainbow sandwiches and unicorn cakes, then.
I don't suppose they'll have lions.

Dear colleagues,
Apologies for the noise, our sprinkler system is currently undergoing a two day service and inspection. The sprinkler bell sounds when the pumps are running and cannot be silenced.
The noise will be on and off today and tomorrow.
Kind Regards,
