So thats about 53 minutes for 10 miles then. I bet it's only that low so they don't have to pay for too many elite runners to enter.

Gobi, 32 min 10K is roughly equal to 53 min 10 mile so sub 55 will probably be enough.

They say that they go on 10K time, didnt mention a 10 mile time but i think it would be equal to a 53 minute 10 miler! Great North Run Elite start is a sub 1.13 half marathon which i think is a 'slightly' softer target...in a few years time anyway! If anyone feels confident though give me a shout, i have the great run elite race directors private email address, but he will probably have moved jobs by the time i get close to sending him another mail!!!

You never know Gobi, you seem to put alot into the long distances, if you focused on speedwork and shorter distances for 6 months you might suprise yourself... im no expert though so its probably best to ignore me and carry on doing what your doing!!!
