Hey Foxy. I'm being a bit challenged today (no much difference than normal) and I sent you a FB message on the Enigma page and now can't see it. Basically, I need to give back 5 of the days from 7 in 7 and can now only do the Saturday and Sunday. Totally get that I won't get a refund etc but didn't see any sense in holding onto the spots until the last minute when someone on the wait list can have the places and have at least 2 months notice to get training (and practice drinking to keep up with Webber!). |

Good afternoon Happy New Year to you all - I hope you all had a great festive season. Just the same info as usual for the "usual suspects" - welcome to anyone joining us for the first time - any questions just ask ? The race info from the website is here : enigmarunning.co.uk A few "gentle" reminders - please do not litter - I have collected 3 bin liners full of rubbish from around the lake in the past 3 days - granted none of this was ours but please keep the place tidy. Bins will be provided 400 yards beyond the aid station & half way round the lap under the bridge please use them. Also please remember the public have right of way around the lake & we don't - THEY DO NOT NEED TO GET OUT OF YOUR WAY, YOU NEED TO GET OUR OF THEIRS. The aid station will have a table for jaffa cakes, peanuts, Mrs Foxy's magic cookies, crisps & water in 330ml sports bottles will be provided. Anything left on the table is for all runners - leave any personal stuff on the table at your own risk !!!!! please feel free to leave personal drinks in this area & you might want to label them ? A baggage tent will be provided. Numbers will be available for collection in the far end of the pub under the TV screen - please keep the noise level down as guests are sleeping / enjoying breakfast. Anyone doing both days will need to retain their numbers for day 2 - there is no need to register on Sunday if you already have on Saturday. I will guide folks to the start via the aid station / baggage area at 8.45 for a 9am start - the start is about a 400 yard walk. My safety pin order is still on it's way so if you can bring your own pins / donate a few we would be very grateful. Finally Heather McDonald -Hamilton will have "aviation art work" calendars for sale (featuring the fantastic art work of Alex Hamilton) at half price - It's January & if DFS can do it why not ? Each calendar will cost you just a fiver with 2 for £9 & can be purchased at race registration from Heather. The Art work is fantastic & you can record all your races on there so you know exactly what's coming next & all funds raised will go to Brathay Trust as Heather will be tackling the 10 in 10 in May around Windermere -silly idea but looks fun We look forward to "motivating" you all in our unique style over the weekend. There will be pre events drinks from 8pm at the Caldecotte arms on Friday night - mine's a Corona Very best wishes Foxy & K-web x |

I might want to go on waiting lists for some of this years races but at the moment am waiting on a few dates so can't commit happy to say my injury is improving and I can now run ( with knee taped) shall def be there at the weekend but slow due to time out and having breathing issues at the mo. Should be OK with one day as I managed a marathon last weekend, not sure I will complete the second day but I intend to start. |
