:-o not too recently then Scorge.

My friend has been to Knockhill but I haven't. Believe it or not he persuaded his wife to go up there from Lincolnshire for their honeymoon.

I’m still disappointed that I was at the wrong end of the Knockhill track with my camera when Tim Harvey sent Tarquini flying back in the 90s. Got to love Murray Walkers shocked commentary though.

Wow that was some roll. That was before I started watching it, I've only really been a fan for 6 or 7 years.

Are either of you driver fans, team fans or just for the whole thing?

I don’t follow any particular team or driver myself, I just enjoy the individual tussles as they fight it out. Compared with F1, which I don’t really watch these days, I find there’s rarely a dull moment!

I totally agree with you Fergus. I stopped watching F1 when it became a procession.

Have you seen the last 2 meetings? What do you think of the new hybrid system?

Caught the last two meetings on the TV, and thought initially that the hybrid thing might be an over complicated distraction that I’d fail to grasp. They’ve done a good job with the commentary, on-screen graphics and the lights on the cars though, and I do find it quite engaging. I probably pay more attention to it (mentally wondering if a driver will have enough hybrid ‘juice’ left to get out of trouble) than I ever did to the old ballast-based system.

Knockhill is just over 30 minutes away from home, so I’ll definitely try to get back up their for the July meet. For the other meetings, I’ll watch from the sofa.

Just 30 minutes, lucky you. My nearest, Snetterton, is 2 hours away.

started watching during the super tourer era when cleland et al were cleaning up. those cars were properly savage. modern championship feels more like short track stock cars sometimes, but still 10* more fun than F1 which has had all of its soul removed imo.

Yep agree with you Scorge like we've commented above about the F1.

Can't agree about the stock car scenario but they certainly do put their elbows out when they want to. No bumping to overtake or to gain an advantage which imo makes it better because they need more skill and guile now than force.

I've run on Knockhill, and been there for stock car type stuff. It's about 10 mins drive from here. Really should go more often. It's great to watch. :-) G
