Even though I chose it, I don't know when I'll get round to starting TMOTF as I'm currently part-way through Bleak House. Which is very long, and has a bewilderingly large number of characters and innumerable little sub-plots which are all intertwining and getting linked up together. With two longish train journeys (one made longer by an unexpected 4-hour wait thanks to a "retiming" of train) I thought I'd probably finish it over the Christmas period but am not quite half-way. For anyone wanting an introduction to Charles Dickens, don't try this one. Bint, your copy of TMOTF is older than I am. (Possibly smells better, too). |
