Read 31% of The Amateurs tonight, enjoying it lots. Half tempted to play golf again, except I sold my clubs last month

Still making no progress with Thomas Penman, but he is coming to Holland with me, where he WILL get read... I think I have the Mill on the Floss somewhere but never read it... it may be ina box mind, in store...

It may even come as a free Kindle classic or summat.

I've read the mill on the floss but can't remember it. I'm currently going through a phase of rereading classics so it will fit in nicely when I've finished wuthering heights.

I have a couple of holidays and several.flights in January so a long one is fine by me :)

Found our copy of The Mill on the Floss and it's an old one - a paperback in Pan Classics with yellowed pages and tiny writing. I may use this as an excuse to get a nicer, newer copy

Little Nemo - Shut up knee!
I read The Mill on the Floss a few years ago so I'm not sure if I'll read it again. I think it will depend on how long it takes me to finish The Stand - 450 pages down, 800+ to go :-)

If I don't read TMotF I'll probably give V S Naipaul a go as he sounds like someone I should read.

Don't think I've read any Henry James so there's someone else I should try!
