Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch
or for an ad-free Fetcheveryone experience!

Off to the bookshop tomorrow, to collect one book and order another (Single Thread).

Meanwhile, still reading David Copperfield.

A Single Thread becomes available for me on the library app on the 8th, I think. Received 3 books today (only just, had to speed downstairs from an online meeting for postie's knock before he gave up and went away). Ordered from an indie bookshop in Scotland (I have also recently ordered from a more local bookshop, Scarthin Books). Read half of My Name is Why this evening and will definitely finish it tomorrow. First book I've really been able to concentrate on and feel engaged with since lockdown. Maybe I needed a bit of reality rather than fiction?

My Name is Why finished today. Recommended. I cried a couple of times. I would say it was a very easy read for a difficult story. Made me feel very middle-class white (which I am, but...).

Hello - I’m new(ish!)here! I’m a bookseller and I love talking books and reading what others think about books.

I’ve finished 2 this morning Summer by Ali Smith - just wow. So much to unpack, such a clever writer. I’ll be thinking about this one for a long time.
Also finished Queenie on the BBC Sounds app whilst running. Enjoyed this - of the BLM books I’ve read lately it’s definitely the most accessible, more commercial but still got lots to say..... now what to read next?!
