Dio - Prompted by your post I've just read a (very favourable) review of Reservoir 13. I really like the sound of it (and it's set in the Peak District, an area I know well form my own childhood and adolescence) ...do you recommend?

Have you also read Reservoir 13, McGoo? If so do you recommend?

No. We’ve got a couple of Jon McGregors on the growing TBR pile though.

Yes, although I can imagine that some might not get in with it, I think you will. I first started it on Audible and quickly returned it, likening it to time lapse photography ofnothing happening. That was unfair, it doesn’t lend itself to audio, I don’t think.
A better analogy would be time lapse photography of the same things, but shot from different angles, showing the cycle of nature, but also the subtle changes that take place unseen. It is quite an understated book, and inconclusive, leaving the reader to make up their own mind about people and events and take the story on themselves.

Mmm, nice, thanks. Now in both Guardian and Wordery baskets (while I decide on second book which will determine which of the two to use....)
Might be unable to resist hardback new Sally Rooney. Liked Conversations with Friends even more the second time.

Station 11 Slaughterhouse 5 was a good win in the semis. Shame it couldn't go all the way.

After the disappointment of the draw Slaughterhouse had with The Famous.

High scoring Fahrenheit Strongly fancied, while Catch is dropped, and IQ has fallen sharply in the market. Orwell’s remains the favourite.

Liebling is now denying that her sister foisted If No one Speaks of Remarkable Things on us, suggesting that I bought it, an accusation I utterly refute.
