Having tried precisely that approach once, I wouldn't recommend it. All you get it some sob story about how deeply misunderstood they are and how they deserve to be included in cliques when frankly, they do not.

That's not how ignoring works - semantically or technically. Telling someone you're not speaking to them is speaking to them n'est-ce pas. Ignore functions / block users are a marvellous way of keeping blood pressure down. Can make life a bit surreal at times, but it's a small price to pay.

true story - my OH was shouting at someone who had pissed him off and what he shouted was "You're nothing but a cunt, C N U T cunt!" lost its effect when everyone including himslef creased up at his bad spelling
