Hi everyone. I managed to get off betablockers for a couple of weeks before going back into AF on the 20th. Unfortunately the flecainide didnt prove effective and I'm now back in AF and on the betablockers/anticoagulants again. Looks as though I will be going round the cardioversion bouy again but I may see if staying on a minimal betablocker dose is an option as I was able to do a lot of training and starting to run well again with no problems.

I have a WARFARIN question. If you take this, is anyone knackered, or is it my AF that's doing it. Lately I have been really tired about 2pm each day. I can;t sleep at work obviously, but otherwise up to 30 mins is required to get me going again.

I was really tied when I was on warfarin, but not sure if it was caused by general stress of having AF. Sorry, I know that's not much use but wonder if general life stuff is getting you tired?

Hi DBG since Ive been back on the medication Ive also felt tired a lot of the time. I have been put on wafarin this time, but hope the consultant will put me on dabigatran when I next see him. They dont need all the blood tests to get the level right prior to a cardioversion.

Morning all - woke up in AF this morning - no "symptoms" and felt absolutely fine - only realised when I put my garmin on to go for a bike ride! HR 130 and stayed like that for a further 35 mins.

Is that really AF at 130bpm, macca? I can get those readings with poor contact and/or static in my clothing when I have multiple layers on. (Not say it wasn't though - just curious)

I had another episode yesterday of what is probably pSVT. Curly45 had accidentally taken on of my spikes and one of hers in her bag to the women's XC, both right feet. With 15 mins to spare, I had to run the mile to where we were parked and get back with the other shoes. When I stopped abruptly to cross the dual-carriageway, I felt it start. I was wearing my Garmin and HR strap ready for my race later on, so turned it on to find my HR was 220bpm.

As before, it only lasted a few minutes and started on the back of a hard run. That's twice it has happened running - the other was on the recovery after a first interval of a session - and twice it has happened while on the sofa.

Anyway, I got the shoes to her in time and she had a great run. I didn't tell her about my episode until after my race was done.

Rob take a look at my garmin trace from yesterday - that's not an uncommon trace shape for me - often get spikes up to 140-150 at the start of a run and back to normal rhythm in 5 - 10 mins. This was not as high but for much longer and even when sitting down reading the paper.

I can't see your trace - maybe you can get a screenshot and put it in the gallery?

Looking at your log, you have a much lower HR generally than me. Looks like you have your HRmax at 150 bpm which is even below my 70% WHR level.

I work off a max of 200bpm but have actually hit 206 at the end of a parkrun when I was still pretty unfit. An easy run puts me into the 130/140s and racing a 10k I am averaging just under 190bpm.

Did my first race since September PVI, with no ill effects. Admittedly not running as fast or as hard as previously, but feeling good
Have had 3 or 4 episodes since procedure, but only 1 since 3-month follow up in early December

Question for anyone - does anyone get episodes when lying in bed? Especially while lying on side? I get a very brief (1 or 2 mins) flutter if I get into bed and roll onto right side. No probs lying flat or on left side. Anyone else?
Strangely, before procedure, rolling onto left side could be a trigger for full-blown episode
