m.bbc.co.uk Currently on the BBC breakfast news schedule is the story about amateurs using performance enhancing drugs. Figures are quite high if to be believed. So, although I have not experienced this, unless you include coffee*, it would seem that at least some of us on here should have encountered. So, have you any direct/indirect experiences? Zero judgement, just curious. |

Sourcing I could see being easy, as yes, you can buy anything* over the internet with a bit of research. *And yes, you can buy all sorts of things you would think you couldn't via the darker auction sites and crypto currencies. |

And shouldn't the title of this thread (as per Fetch standard formatting) be - Are You Dopingwatch. Do you have Are You Doping?

Might lose a bit of productivity today... There are some really interesting sites/communities out there. Gives a look into the aspects of another approach that is starkly contrasting to what I know. Not bad/good, but very _different_ in values and outlook. For example thinksteroids.com possibly NSFW if you are not on your own network connection. Quick search finds many others... Including sources of UK supply for many substances. |

It's a fairly sensationalist story. Most drug taking that goes on is not directly aimed at cheating in sports events. People taking "recreational" drugs e.g cocaine or amphetamine on Saturday night and then playing Sunday morning football are not really doing it to improve their performance. The other is gym/bodybuilding culture. I'd say a reasonable proportion of young men who lift weights take steroids or products which will help them lose body fat - and that's often for aesthetic/body image issues, not to win in competitions. That does then spill over into things like rugby. Again, if you go to the "right" kind of gym, you'll know where to get those products. |

I am acquainted with a national level rugby player who, when he told me that he took steroids, said that it was legitimate to do so in his sport at his level. I'm not sure whether his head buttoned up the back or whether he thought mine did. I suspect both of these may be true. I would have no difficulty getting hold of a wide range of doping products if I was so inclined. Getting a consistent supply without an audit trail would be much more difficult. |
