I saw this and thought exactly the same Kieren. If all this energy is being returned and your form is not predisposed to using it then the body has to absorb that energy return. It seems if though it is the premise as the Newtons except at least the company that make the Newtons are aware of and forewarn customers of the additional training needed to use their shoes |

Yeah, I think if I wore them I'd end up slamming my foot into the ground unintentionally. I'm sure addidas must of a lab team or some sort or sports experts as well as the fashion designers so I really wonder what they were thinking? |

They were thinking money what else. We live in a "magic pill" society and lets face it us runners are probably worse than most . If Haile Gebrselassie claims he can run faster in them then they "must" make ordinary runners run faster...surely??? But when you think about it the hype talks about a sub two hour marathon which cuts three minutes of a two hour event or 2.5% improvement and that is for a biomechanically efficient runner . Runners could make a better improvement by improving diet and training |

They had an interview with adidas' 'global head of running' about these on marathon talk a few weeks ago. marathontalk.com obviously he is very biased, but it gives some info about their thinking behind them. I'm not convinced yet, but am reading reviews with interest in terms of the 'future of running shoes'. Will be interesting to see how people deal with them long term, esp in terms of potential injuries. Apparently adidas sponsored elite athletes will be running in an adios version of them at London.

My foot isn't made of a steel ball bearing. If I was wearing "boost" it would be the "boost" & foot slamming into the concrete not the a-fore mentioned ball bearing |

I was at the Indoor Meeting at Birmingham and had a look at the trainers, they looked like a Chocolate Aero Bar
