I've really enjoyed recent Star Wars series on Disney+ but felt I had gaps not having watched any of the animated works. So I went back and watched most of The Clone Wars and enjoyed that. I'm guessing it would be good to watch Rebels before Ahsoka in August, but what about Bad Batch? Necessary viewing?

Glad you enjoyed Clone Wars, Stu. Yes to Rebels as prep for Ahsoka. I don't think Bad Batch is necessary as prep for Ahsoka at all but it's been an entertaining series so far and seems to link more with Mando and the sequel trilogy if anything. |

I'm biting my tongue about the Bad Batch being necessary for anything at all... But Rebels is indeed worth a watch - I love the Loth cats.

Not a Bad Batch fan, then, AJLB? Fair enough. I quite liked it. I guess on the broad subject of what you NEED to watch before other series, if Disney/Lucasfilm do their job right each series or film should stand on it's own two feet and explain anything that's necessary within it's own story. |

Well, I'm not enthused about the Mediocre Batch, but I did just re-watch Solo, which was lacking in love when it released, but I've always rather liked. I guess it was caught up in the prequel turbulence and the beginnings of fan-lash over the direction of Lucasfilm. I think it's a perfectly good origin story, Han develops nicely over the film, Lando is great, and I would have liked to see more of Crimson Dawn with you-know-who at the helm. I guess it's never going to happen now. For that matter, remember when they used to make Star Wars movies, as opposed to TV shows?

I rewatched Solo a few weeks back as I'd seen some stuff about how awful it was, which wasn't how I'd remembered it. It was as you say, AJLB. It's not going to win any oscars but it's a pretty good film, the cast are good, there's some good action in it and it gets the job done. |
