I’ve previously used a coffee grinder as a spice grinder. Worked perfectly, until the motor went anyway.

Motors on coffee grinders go very quickly grinding spices, especially roots. I grate and use a pestle and mortar, largely. The electric spice grinder came with a blender, as a separate attachment. I mainly use it to grind linseeds.

I've got a pestle and mortar which I use often. Looks like I'll have to get another lec one.
My first ever spice (and paste) grinder was a Gaggia coffee grinder. It was before lec spice grinders were available on the UK domestic market and I made a lot of powders and pastes.
I work by hand mostly, but then need something to finish and make the powder fine or the paste smooth (eg garam masala/Thai curry pastes).

I can't find a link to the brand I've bought 3 of. It was called Vivaldi or summat.
I like doing things manually, but I guess I'll just have to bite the bullet and get another lec one. I've tried to get the correct blade attachment for the Nutribullet, but not been successful. Bristol's now lost all its good cookshops, which is a huge shame.

It:s crazy Hann. We lost a small one just out of the centre and a huge one, used by restaurants, in the centre.
I bought all my coffee works from what was Kitchens in Bristol.
