It's 2km from the next farm (abandoned) and 9km of 4x4 track to the junction to the bridge that joins a sort of main road which is still c30km of asphalt from town. I cannot imagine living out there in winter. I think now it is just used as a summer camp (no signs of life today but lights were on and hydro generator was going). As you can see from the bales, the land is still put to good use and the sheep would have been up the mountains till around last weekend. But I think the closest permanent residence is at the aforementioned bridge.
