8 miles first thing. Bird song was so loud I turned off my podcast and just listened to that for most of my run. Beautiful.

Yumee, I don't think I'm the outlier here. Surelly it is not normal to roll up at A&E in the middle of a pandemic with a toe that has been sore for 5 days already?

I've also quarantined him in the spare bedroom downstairs on the basis that there is no point having a shower until he has gone back to the hospital, but he'll need to have a shower and wash all his clothes (and now the bedclothes down there) after his xray before he rejoins civil society.

But the real reason is that I rather like my own company.

Definitely not normal, ITG - my reaction would be exactly the same as yours.

Sounds very symptomatic of anxiety ITG - assuming he woke you after 5hrs fretting and catastrophising
Still wouldn’t take him to A&E though

I’ve run 15 miles so far in May. This is making me smile.

My first thought, Dipps, was that he was having a mental health crisis. That I definitely would have taken seriously. But then he said his toe had been sore since 1am and he couldn't sleep but he hadn't taken any painkiller either, at which point concern, interest, and any modicum of sympathy evaporated. I really love my sleep.

I'm laughing now but kinda not laughing. If I tease him about it, he will just bring out the time - 12 years ago - we had pneumonia and I thought it was flu and tried to treat it with paracetamol and chamomile tea.

ITG, that would be my reaction. Completely justified.

I have run once this week. Once. I cannot remember the last time I only ran once in a week. I'm at the computer, but procrastinating. Might run now, then go back to it.
