Afternoon all.

I must admit, I had a crap night last night with the old tinnitus & was feeling quite "down" this morning. As usual, I got no sympathy from my wife, who told me "there's a lot of people worse off than you, stop moping around & go & cheer yourself up with a run." So I did. Six & a half miles in bright sunshine cheered me up no end. Now to carry on wiring in the new ring main.

Women, why are they always right?

Happy Birthday DS2, though obviously DS1's is on a much better day;-)

Nearly two hours on the turbot last night doing this Zwifting thing. Was fun and hard work in equal measures. We set up a Zoom link for chat as we went along. There were about 18 of us from the Tri club. V social and great for the sanity levels to be able to do something all together. Felt almost normal for a couple of hours.

V sorry to hear about your friend's husband TM. The first of hopefully not too many, I'm afraid.

Run tonight with DD2. Have barely been outside for 2 days :-( Looking forward to some sunshine at the weekend.

No more races cancelled this week, but Giant's Head in late June the next on the at risk list. Can't see it happening if I'm honest.

I'm down to run the Giant's Head as well CStar. I was really looking forward to the run as I'd never done that one before. I have a horrible feeling you could be right about it being cancelled.

Can’t see any races before September really. Wondering if Beachy or Portsmouth marathon will be my first?

Five miles done in the pretend Thursday morning club run.

And when I got back, a WhatsApp from T (son2's partner) with the photos from her 12 week scan this morning :-)

Glad the run helped, David.

I reshovelled and had a kickabout with boy.

More biking instead of running. Stayed on the roads today - a long stretch of the A36 was resurfaced in Jan/Feb (overnight closures and 30 - 40 mile detours) - but very nice & smooth now for cycling.

Not as quiet as expected, but probably <25% of normal use. Lots of single driver cars at midday that I doubt were essential?

Delayed DOMS from yesterday? Only apparent on the uphill bits towards the end.

Not sure you can pass judgment on why other folks are out and about, um.

I got a message to say that a book I ordered back in January was going to be delivered today, to my old address. I'd completely forgotten I'd even ordered it. I WhatsAppd the old neighbours to ask them to keep an eye open for it, and when it arrives I'll jog over there and pick it up - 1.5 miles each way. I'm hoping it comes soon so that it can be today's outdoor exercise, I've not been out yet and it's not helping my mood one little bit.

Happy birthday to Fleecy's DS2.

Been for a longish walk which included footpath through several fields. In one of the fields I was closely followed by a large sheep making grunting noises, which I found rather unnerving.

Welcome to the 700 miles in 2020 thread, everybody welcome. The thread motto is:
'700 miles is neither necessary nor sufficient'

At normal times: All you have to do is run about 1.91 miles per day or 13.46 miles per week or 58.33 miles per month and take a picture when you get to 700 miles. Extra points for bins :-) And if you go under or over 700 miles nobody will mind.
