I couldn’t bear to share mine either, Dipps! I walked round a very muddy parkrun this morning with the dog in the sunshine - it was lovely Trying to ignore the lurgy and psych myself up for a trip into Birmingham for a concert tonight. Mr Woo has been coughing a lot at night for the last few nights so neither of us has had much sleep. Caffeine injection required before we go out, I think! |

Slept badly, then woke from one of those dreadful frustration dreams where everything keeps going wrong, to find that I had barely enough time to scramble around and get to parkrun on time. Glad I did, as it was my 50th parkrun, and I got in under the dreaded 40 minutes, and with an age grading securely into the 60%s. And now only 5 miles to go to the 400. Feel almost apologetic for being so upbeat when so many 700-ers are suffering with lurgies, injuries, fatigue and general run-down-ness. |

I’m not run-shaming Columba lawks they’re just lovely stats that lay my year rather bare. I shall continue to look forward not back like a modern Lot

Congratulations on your 50th parkrun Columba! And a good WAVA to boot I went singing, which was a good thing as I really blew my top at OH this morning, having reached the end of my tether with his total lack of thoughtfulness, empathy and general helpfulness at a busy time of the year. I shared this tweet on another thread and it lightheartedly captures the murder in my heart twitter.com Anyway, my eye is still very uncomfortable but singing made me feel a lot happier |

TeeBee, I followed up your link, and was unsurprised but thoroughly depressed by it. When I was carrying out assessment of HE students for specialist provision (mostly re dyslexia) I realised that Unis were in at least some cases scraping the bottom of the barrel. Some of the students I saw simply shouldn't have been attempting an academic course of study, not because they were dyslexic but because they couldn't draw conclusions; or because their approach to a difficult task (not a reading/writing task; any task) was to give up without even considering it.
