Which part of the country do you live in Meglet? Rain, down here on the sunny Sussex coast, we've forgotten what rain is.

My 9 waterbutts in the back garden are bone dry & have been for some considerable time.

We have a dark cloud threatening rain again. It must have been raining through the night.
We took Alfie swimming and I did a couple of lengths bit I'm not a confident swimmer but we were in the pool for at least 1 hour.

What is this rain stuff you speak of? It’s all parched here.

It’s cooler though so running with my friend was much easier today with clouds and a breeze. We ran much more than we usually do!

I am up to 47 miles for the month, my highest monthly aggregate for 2018. If I keep going steady it should be my best monthly total for 3 years, since before stuff happened.

Early morning run this morning, over an hour. Decided to log runs over an hour as Medium Long, and over an hour and a half (if I get that far) as Long. Increasing by not more than 10% per week. As is advised.

Still no rain here, only 2 water butts, each with a reluctant trickle of water if one has the patience to wait.

I seem to have a hidden talent for running at the hottest time of the day. As soon as I’d finished it dulled down. Still, finished in park so rewarded myself with a latte & scone from the cafe.

Desperate for rain here, but combInes are busy. I hope West Yorkshire is now nicely watered & the sun shines for the school holidays :-)
Today’s run was so rubbish I gave up & walked, sore joints. Very cross.

:-( sounds like a hot and bothered run

I now fancy a scone and a latte. I’m so easily led

I found my swim really hard work this morning :-( I did some gardening this afternoon then came in about 4, sat down and promptly fell asleep. I think that's my body telling me something.

About This Thread

Welcome to the 700 miles in 2018 thread, everybody welcome :-)

The thread motto is:

'700 miles is neither necessary nor sufficient'

All you have to do is run about 1.91 miles per day or 13.46 miles per week or 58.33 miles per month and take a picture when you get to 700 miles of either you or the spot you reached the target or both if you want to. And if you go under or over 700 miles nobody will mind.

Join in the chat on the friendliest thread around - all things discussed and sometimes even some running is talked about.

Next year's spreadsheet can be found here - let's fill it up
