Sorry Linds. I missed your post. Hope the little one is ok. We had a doggy incident at the finish. A dog that was out for a wander with its owner went for a dog that was finishing parkrun and the owner got sent flying. A few tears but thankfully everyone ok.

Got dropped off out of town to walk back and discovered a lovely trail to look forward to. Hope everyone recovers from eventful parkruns. Fleece, dry off the socks and run. Washing kit is overrated.

Evening all
A gentle run around Bracknell Parkrun this morning ran to what I felt was a gentle easy pace ended up with a progressive sub 27 ( 26:58 ). It felt good and easy which surprises me a little. But if I'm being honest was possibly a little quicker than I should have run it!
Early to bed tonite ( a sleep by 9.30) as I'm up at silly o'clock tomoro to get to Bournemouth for the marathon and want to give myself as much chance to get as much sleep as possible

Evening all. Hope everyone/all the kids are OK.
My final 20 miler this morning in preparation for Auckland. It was a bit meh. The only bit that was OK was the parkrun around mile 6. There's an elderly lady who usually runs in the park whilst parkrun is on, but she runs in reverse. I saw her at the start today and she said that she had started running parkrun now. At the end I got my barcode scanned then went back and ran in with her. It made my day.
The rest of the run was tough. I had to go and pick up my car at the end and got to it at 18.33 miles (slight route miscalculation on my part). Somehow I managed to make myself keep going and do the final 1.67 but it was a close call. I'm finding running a bit of a chore lately, but work has also been a bit rubbish so that's probably not helping.
I'm hoping that a better week at work next week (maybe), and being on holiday for 10 days before the marathon, will be enough to help me relax (even though there will also be a very long flight in there). Fingers crossed that running with others in a new place will help me find my mojo, otherwise it's going to be a long, painful race.

Well done, Paula!
I think you’re exactly where you need to be for Auckland.

Well run Paula, especially running past the car.
& for the early night sleep, & at Bournemouth tomorrow Red Alex. If you don’t sleep well tonight it probably won’t matter, you’ll be rested.

There seem to have been some eventful parkruns today.
Went for a 5 and a half mile walk, briskish, hilly, windy. Enjoyed it, though. Haven't been that far along that road (the wild-and-woolly moorland road) for a long time.
Waiting, with MM, for news from Linds.
